I had the experience, in multiple occasions, to pass from one culture to a radically different one. The struggle to be a part of, recognized by another party, involves complexities. There is some kind of a loss when a language disappears, as when a word from a foreign language is inevitably referenced. Languages, as cultures, revolve around major interests, concepts and, ideas they value. This difference between them, legitimates the value of difference. These divergencies, can be distinguished at high levels of abstraction, as a regard of distrust as a sign of intelligence, a show of excitement as a feature of shallowness, or in concrete representations as stratal state of mind when wearing a certain design on a piece of clothing. The treasure of difference is collaterally, and alarmingly, taken as a sign of otherness. Is it truly a paradox? Science, behavioral and genetic based theories connote the commonness of a single humanity; are in itself works of sameness as is all science. This outlook upon functionality has little regard on plurality and what it empowers and accredits, peace and wanderlust. Wanderlust of body and mind, of experiences and the birth of new words and concepts. Hopes of Otherness becoming a possibility of human survival.

Un Gallo Nocturno_A Nocturnal Rooster

Un Gallo Nocturno, was an attempt to construct a special place for those memories that make no sense in other cultures. It is a chest-trunk made solely from the feathers of a single rooster. The entirety, its walls and structures, are also made of its feathers. The rooster is a territorial bird known for poor flight. It can reach distance of only a couple of meters.  Its fragility place an important part of that seduction it expresses.it is about the treasure of locality. Roosters seldom sing at night but every once in a while they do. Chest also references the place of the heart.
