PAINTINGS
It was told to me that abstraction is a form of rejection of the world. Yet in my experience of painting, is not just reactionary to the world but part of the process of assimilation, which includes a natural internal contradiction. But this reaction, which is part non acceptance, is transcendency being effectuated. In the breach in between my gestures and how things in the world come to make sense for me, there is a negation spawned by my inclusion in the world, I am the negation. Impressions that captivate me also enter the realm of desires. This creates a fissure between my ego and what passively lets itself become invested with the actuality of the perception. The dance of a euphony of gestures includes the macabre in symbolization.
